Imagine welcoming the New Year at 5,895 metres above sea level, standing on Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Instead of celebrating midnight at home, begin 2027 with an extraordinary achievement on the Roof of Africa! As 2026 comes to an end, Lindo Travel & Tours invites adventurous travellers from around the world to experience something truly unforgettable: a special New Year Kilimanjaro climbing adventure, with the opportunity to reach Uhuru Peak on 1 January 2027.

This festive season, we are organizing three special fixed group departures via the famous Machame and scenic Lemosho routes. Whether you prefer a shorter expedition or a longer climb with additional acclimatization time, there is an adventure waiting for you.

Welcome 2027 from the Roof of Africa

There are many ways to celebrate the New Year, but few experiences compare to watching the first sunrise of 2027 from the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Your journey will take you through some of the mountain's most spectacular landscapes, from lush tropical rainforest and beautiful moorlands to dramatic alpine deserts and magnificent glaciers.

As midnight approaches on 31 December, you will begin your final ascent towards the summit under a sky filled with stars. Guided by our experienced mountain crew, you will gradually make your way towards Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895m).

Reaching the summit on New Year's Day is a remarkable way to welcome a new chapter in life. Celebrate your achievement, take unforgettable photographs and enjoy the incredible feeling of standing on top of Africa.

Choose Your New Year Kilimanjaro Climbing Adventure

For this special occasion, we have selected three carefully planned group departures, each designed around a New Year's Day summit attempt.

1. 6-Day Machame Route – 28 December 2026

The 6-day Machame Route is a challenging expedition for trekkers with good physical fitness who prefer a shorter climbing itinerary. Known as the Whiskey Route, Machame offers beautiful scenery, varied landscapes and the famous Barranco Wall.

Departure: 28 December 2026

Summit target: 1 January 2027

Duration: 6 days

Price: USD 1,800 per person

The 7-day Machame Route provides an additional acclimatization day compared with the 6-day itinerary, allowing more time to adjust to the increasing altitude.

You will experience the beautiful Shira Plateau, climb the famous Barranco Wall, explore the alpine desert and eventually reach Barafu Camp before your summit attempt.

Departure: 27 December 2026

Summit target: 1 January 2027

Duration: 7 days

Price: USD 2,250 per person

This is an excellent option for trekkers looking for a longer Machame experience and additional time for acclimatization.

3. 8-Day Lemosho Route – 26 December 2026

For those who prefer a longer and more gradual climbing experience, the 8-day Lemosho Route is an excellent choice.

Beginning on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro, this scenic route takes you through beautiful rainforest, across the magnificent Shira Plateau and towards the southern circuit of the mountain.

The additional time allows for a more gradual ascent and valuable acclimatization opportunities before the final summit attempt.
